1999 The Jury of the leading electronica media Festival Ars Electronica awarded the operating system "Linux" with their main "Art Price", the golden Nica.

Due to a lack of discussion and a pervert motivation (the will to experiment), UBERMORGEN.COM started with "operation Linux".

One day prior to the opening of the Ars Electronica Festival, a mass email was sent to 89.000 international email-addresses
[target: art, culture, science, tech and press / media].

The subject: "LINUX wins Prix Ars Electronica due to MICROSOFT INTERVENTION"

In the email - sent out in the Name of 4 Jury-Members - the jury stated concerns about the IT-industry heavily influencing the Jury-decision in favor of "Linux".

The Actions impact was massive. Over 100 Journalists called in monday morning at the opening of the Ars Electronica Festival inquiring about the case.

Large feature articles in Linux Today, Telepolis, Slasdot and other influencial online media gave the action a heavy spin.

The viral spreading of the message was enormous and very fast. Due to the news potential of the message, global viral effect hit within 3-4 hours.

The estimated reach is 850.000 unique users, The estimated frequency is 5.
